Podcasts in the classroom are the latest 21st century trend. One great advantage podcasts give is the portability and convenience for anyone interested in learning about that certain topic. ShortOrange, which is a free podcast, contains various genres of talks. I subscribed to all podcasts having to do with education and technology use in the classroom. Every podcast is different than another because each podcast interviews new teachers and educators, which allow new stories and new ideas to be voiced. It is interesting listening to the content that is communicated directly to me, who is the listener. I believe this method is a more intimate way of retaining the information than reading it. I have turned into a podcast junkie! I listen to one, sometimes two, podcast(s) before bed every night.
However, if you focus more on the content by having a visual, there are other ways to listen to podcasts. On YouTube, a channel called Prepped and Polished interviews other educators and professionals. The videos show a live clip of the interviewer and the interviewee, which allows the listeners to have an image.
